It means gameplay priorities are completely different when you're playing it. But central to Banner's was that health influenced a character's strength, which isn't present at all here. It's turn based, with alternating turns and a health/energy mechanic. Your choices in cutscenes matter, presented very similarly as Banner's does (but a lot of games have choices that matter). Gameplay: Definitely, but there's enough difference that you can say they're doing their own thing with it. The similar art probably influenced this opinion. But that's a lot of games (that's probably most games). They both have a light magic setting, are semi-medieval, and have monsters. Banner is set in Nordic region with Frost giant allies and sludge monster enemies (to simplify). It looked great in Sleeping Beauty, looked great in Banner, looks good here. It should be mentioned that Banner's art isn't an original though they themselves talk about how they were influenced by the old Sleeping Beauty animation and it lead to their style choices. Art Style: Yep, clearly strongly influenced here. Philip, I see you don't own the game, so I'll break down a few similarities you mentioned: I really enjoyed the Banner Saga and can clearly see the influence here, but taking that standpoint means we'll never get games like the Banner Saga, which if you're a fan you should want (even if it leads to 9 bad games out of 10 clones - you still get 1 good game.
